Overview of Term 2 Art Program.

Prep Visual Arts Program Term 2 2013
The Term 2 topics are Drawing and Mark Making and Collage. The goals for this term are:
  1. To experiment and discover drawing, mark making and collage.
  2. To encourage the correct use of glue and scissors by creating a collage.
  3. To use different materials in order to create different collaged artworks.
  4. To explore different drawing materials.
  5. To encourage students to recognise colours.
  6. To understand that lines can be thick, thin and textured.



Year 1 Visual Arts Program Term 2 2013

The Term 2 topics are Drawing and Mark Making and Collage. The goals for this term are:

  1. To create an artwork using different drawing tools.
  2. To use marks in an imaginative way.
  3. To introduce Aboriginal artworks to the students.
  4. To observe and discuss the marks created by Aboriginal artists.

The goals for this term are:

  1. To create a papier mache model.
  2. To focus on shape and line in drawing activities.
  3. To use different materials to create collage artworks.
  4. To explore marks using the Chinese paint brush.
  5. To focus on the VELS area of exploring and responding.


Year 4 Visual Arts Program Term 2 2012

The Term 2 topics are Construction, Drawing and Mark Making and Collage.

The goals for this term are:

  1. To design and create a sculpture/construction. To understand that the creative process also includes a reflection of the result.
  2. To focus on strength and support in construction and to combine decorations for special effects.
  3. To develop an awareness of backgrounds and foregrounds in drawing and collage artworks.
  4. To study the work of Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Klee and Picasso.
  5. To explore abstract artworks.
  6. To explore drawing materials.
  7. To create a collage by using different materials and papers.
  8. To create marks using oil pastels and watercolour pencils.
9. To explore the art elements of shape, line and texture in artwork.



Year 5 Visual Arts Program Term 2 2013

The Term 2 topics are Construction, Drawing and Mark Making and Collage.

The goals for this term are:
1. To design, create and decorate a circular design.
2.To focus on and discussing constructions which may be functional, decorative, expressive and imaginative.
3. To self-evaluate (reflect) about own works, describing the processes and commenting on the final results of each piece produced.
4. To explore the illusion of movement in artworks using blurred lines, repeated shapes, distance effects etc.
5. To explore expressions on faces when drawing. The focus will be to discuss how to identify a feeling by looking at facial expressions and body language.
6. To use circular shapes, or compasses, and a ruler to create an artwork.
7. To create a collage using newspaper and printed faces to create an artwork.
8. To focus on the art element of line in drawing.
9. To focus on the art element of shape in drawing.


Year 6 Visual Arts Program Term 2 2013

The Term 2 topics are Construction, Drawing and Mark Making and Collage.

The goals for this term are:
1. To self-evaluate (reflect) about own works, describing the processes and commenting on the final results of each piece produced.
2. To continue to develop individual visual diaries.
3. To focus on design by creating a 3D construction on papier mache stands.
4. To study the artworks of Sidney Nolan.
5. To explore the concept of collage using different art materials for the background and foreground.
6. To study architecture and to focus on drawing different features.
7. To explore drawing using watercolour pencils.
8. To create interesting rubbings and to use them in a collage.

In term 2 in art I have lernt how to use diffrent materials. I have also lernt many tecnques.
My favourite part this term was dreawing 3D objects on paper.
